The Original Bowenwork Technique
Bowenwork, otherwise known as Bowen Therapy or Bowtech, is a gentle, effective, hand-on therapy that balances tension patterns in the body, resulting in a state of deep relaxation and nervous system balance. It is a holistic approach to stimulating the body's healing ability and reducing pain and symptoms. Bowenwork is safe for everyone.
Bowenwork moves are made at precise locations on the body over fascia, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. There are wait periods between sets of moves during the session. These are essential to allow the body to respond.
Bowenwork helps calm the nervous system, reduce stress, loosen tension, soften scar tissue, reduce healing time, and improve posture and range of motion without harsh manipulation.
During a Bowenwork session, one may experience many positive changes immediately. Common reports are: An increased
calmness and reduced stress, pain and symptom reduction, a new awareness of one's body, improved posture, deeper breathing, and relaxation. One may notice changes over the next several days as the
body continues the process that began during the work. Sounder sleep, symptom relief, reduced anxiety,
and increased energy are commonly reported.
Bowenwork is effective for both chronic issues and acute injury. It is recommended to have an initial intake and session, and return for a follow up a week later. The amount of sessions needed will vary by case and will be determined according to individual needs and healing response.
Clients often report major
or total improvement in 3-5 sessions, as well as an improvement in conditions other than the main concern. Bowenwork addresses the body as a whole.
It is important to understand that Bowenwork Practitioners do not diagnose. Speak with your doctor first if you have any concerns, serious health
conditions, or new injuries that need medical attention.

13,000 people per year in his clinic in Geelong, Australia. After his
passing in 1982, Ossie and Elaine Rentsch founded the Bowen Academy of
Australia, and this modality is now recognized and practiced by Medical
Doctors, Nurses, Chiropractors, Naturopaths, Veterinarians, Physical and

is being utilized in hospitals, clinics, sports teams, and private
practices.
